About Kathy Yosten, LICSW, PIP
Kathy Yosten
Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Nebraska, and a Masters of Social Work degree from East Carolina University. She has been licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Georgia and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker (LICSW, PIP) in Alabama since 2000.
Kathy's experience includes working as a caseworker at DHR, teaching foster parent classes, conducting adoption and foster parent home studies, working as a social worker in nursing facilities, hospitals, and home health agencies, providing therapy and clinical social work in partial hospitalization settings, providing therapy in out patient clinics, and teaching as an adjunct professor in the School of Social Work at Auburn University. She has provided direct services as well as consultation and supervision. She is currently a private practice consultant for numerous nursing facilities in Alabama and Georgia.
Kathy is an experienced speaker and has given various seminars and in-services on topics including CMS Rules of Participation, Person-Centered Care, Trauma-Informed Care, MDS 3.0, behavior management, survey preparation, caring for residents with dementia, defensive documentation, advanced directives, legal directives, and compliance issues related to nursing facilities.
Kathy is a Board Approved Supervisor through the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners and provides supervision for bachelor and master level social workers.
